The first thing you notice about AA Bronson's exhibition, 'The Temptation of AA Bronson', at the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam is the smell. AA had a buttload of sage — known for its spiritual cleansing properties and heady aroma — shipped in for the occasion. It covers the floor and crackles under your toes as you meander through the galleries.

Over the summer holiday, I spent some time with my new butt buddies in Thessaloniki, Greece. And yet another intriguing photo we intended to find a place for into the 2014 BUTT calendar, but somehow did not. This one came in from Andy in Amsterdam last May with the enigmatic description: 'K. is hiding'. 'Who is K.?' we hear ourselves ask, 'And what is he hiding from?'

Sperm is another popular topic in the 2014 BUTT calendar. And sadly, another case of not being able to track down the high resolution version of this mesmerizing display of cum from Fabio in Bogotá, Colombia.

BUTT received a number of images which featured men and trees for the 2014 BUTT calendar. While this one of Raoni from Brazil did not make it, another by Rafael did. By the way, we also love trees at BUTT, and the calendar is printed on paper stock which is 100% recycled pulp, requiring less water and a considerable reduction in energy consumption compared to virgin fiber papers. Look for it in September.

This photo of a butt on a rug arrived with no information whatsoever. What we can tell about the work of Ricardo is that it is all quite 'glamour shots'. Somehow this one slipped through the cracks, but it is really inviting, no? We love the way the penis head is sort of peeping out from under the body which appears to be levitating. Check in next week for more photos which did not make it into the 2014 BUTT calendar.

When this curious photo popped into the submissions inbox back in May, we were like, 'Huh?'... So sadly, this one did not make it into the 2014 BUTT calendar. Although seeing it with new eyes now, perhaps we missed out on its simple, but abstract beauty.

Hobby photographer Alex from Charlotte, North Carolina likes to make a few self-portraits every week. He tells us his partner is a bit camera shy, so he often practices using himself as a model. It's not that he's super confident, but making these portraits helps him explore a side of himself he might not be able to access without the camera.

This image from Bobby Collins in Berlin was obviously best suited for color reproduction, hence its exclusion from the 2014 BUTT calendar. Don't worry, there were plenty of other great options to choose from in the oeuvre of Bobby Collins, and you can expect to see more from him when the all black and white calendar appears this September.
