Daniel Riera had way too much fun photographing the guys of the Barcelona Panteres Grogues synchronized swimming team for the 2014 BUTT calendar. Here, Antonio gets grabbed by teammates Gio and Luis. All three of them — and many other photos by Daniel, including the cover — appear in the calendar, of course, but this shot was eliminated in one of those 'kill your darlings' moments.

Construction worker and scat enthusiasts are going to be disappointed... This photo of Dean in London was considered, but sadly not appearing in the 2014 BUTT calendar. We tried not once, but twice to get our hands on the high resolution file and photographer credit, but no way José. You can always get in touch with Dean though, he's into 'blokes with no attitude and smelly pits'.

There are several odd domestic scenarios in the 2014 BUTT calendar, but sadly this one from 'Arab addicted' Paulo isn't one of them.

Another neat image, sadly not included in the BUTT calendar as we were not able to get in touch with its owner, Phil in Frankfurt, Germany. Phil has great affection for his belly button, apparently.

We are always surprised at the lack of care some photographers take when it comes to focusing on their subjects, but in this case, we were totally mesmerized by this blurry photo of Juan from Baja California. Juan has very fond memories of exercising with his mom to the Jane Fonda workout video. In fact, he still has the VHS tape.

This cute triptych of Mahieddine by Christopher Schulz is just the sort of portrait of domesticity that occasionally pops up in the 2014 BUTT calendar. Sadly, those high resolution files were on an external hard drive that died, so the three-o of images didn't make it in the final cut. Such are the dramas for print designers. The good news is: a couple others from Christopher will be included, so lovers of beefy dudes needn't fret.

Butthead Adam had asked a passerby to take this photo of his cute self buried at Rooster Rock, the nude beach on the Columbia River in Oregon. It broke our hearts to not be able to include it in BUTT's 2014 calendar, but not only could we not get the unknown photographer's permission, we couldn't get a high res file either.

Paul Dymond sent in a selection of photos for consideration for the 2014 BUTT calendar, but quite frankly, most of them scared the shit out of us. Not to mention the fact that many of his subjects appear in masks — not something we're particularly into at BUTT. Paul explains, 'I'm always amazed how crazy people start acting once they realized the chance of being recognized is unlikely'.

We loved Philip's series depicting the fun side of Israeli beauty Eliad, but sadly his management didn't allow it to go into the 2014 BUTT calendar. Perhaps Eliad doesn't see himself as the fun-loving goofball he appears to be in this particular photo? Perhaps he takes the business of being the go-to mascot for circuit parties around the globe quite seriously? But just look at that bulge... Ay-yay-yay!

Our month of featuring submissions that didn't make it into the calendar continues... Endearing Mateo in Milan, Italy found making this calendar photo in the same location where rough and tough workers sweat in their tank tops all day to be super hot. Us too! He loves factory-man situations: the tools, the relentless grind of their routine, etc. Unfortunately, we found the inclusion of the 2012 calendar just a bit too 'meta' for 2014, so we left this one out.

When Luis Venegas sent us these holiday snaps of his cute 22-year-old BF Leo on a short break to the Canary Islands, he thought maybe they were 'too twink for BUTT'. Not at all! BUTT loves twinks and the 2014 calendar is full of them, including an entire week of portraits of Leo. But sadly this one, where Leo looks a bit grumpy, didn't make the cut.

For the entire month of August, we'll be sharing one photo every weekday, a photo, that is, not included in BUTT's 2014 calendar for one reason or another. Of course, there's lots of butt and lots of Buttheads in next year's calendar and this one — with the most sexy tanlines we've laid eyes on this side of Rio — is a prime example. You have to admit, James of London has the perfect buns for a sunburn.

Right, pretend to actually read that book as you very casually, out of the corner of one eye watch that dude slip out of his black Speedo. Okay, who are you fooling? You're not even reading. You're just sort of skimming it and thinking about your next meal. Ooh, look who's back... Thank heavens for BUTT's summer reading tips — so great for those of you pretending to read on your voyage to the edge of the sexual universe.

It's Monday and we're going to keep the hairy ass thing going for another day since readers of this blog seem to enjoy that sort of thing. Tony snuck in this snapshot while his BF Martin was taking a shower at their Glasgow love nest.

Don't call it a jockstrap! Not available in any store, the jet-black Buttstrap is the result of a collaboration between BUTT and Adidas Originals. We gave it out to guests at last month's House of BUTT party in Berlin, but there are a few left over so we thought we'd share the love.

Butthead Marcelo says hi from his buddy's flat in the magnificent Edifício Copan in São Paulo, Brazil. The Oscar Niemeyer-designed residential building is Marcelo's favorite building in the gargantuan city of extraordinary buildings.

Something for those of you fixated on leaping hood ornaments: 30-year-old hot rod Ubik, who has a lead foot apparently, took photographer Fedya Ili for a joy ride in his black Jaguar X-Type. Could it be the ultimate in compact luxury or simply a Ford Mondeo disguised as a posh sportwagon? We can't say we've ever been behind the wheel of one.

Ukrainian hottie Ubik's uncut cock comes up for air at the Kiev Reservoir, just outside of the city of Kiev. Photographer Fedya Ili spent the day with Ubik and got a whole series of photos which will be appearing here any day now.
