Fingers crossed for Jim Richards (who you may remember from BUTT 19). He’s been nominated for this year’s Jarman Award, a prize for an up-and-coming artist-filmmaker whose work embraces the spirit of Derek Jarman’s risky filmmaking. If he wins, he gets a £10,000 cash prize and a broadcast commission. We couldn’t think of anyone more worthy of such an accolade.

The winner of the Jarman Award will be announced tonight at precisely 7:15 P.M.GMT at the Whitechapel Gallery in London. UPDATE: Jim won the award!
