WIDE OPEN CALL FOR FILMS
Bruce LaBruce is curating a selection of X-rated short films at Drake’s Cruising Amsterdam on the weekend of May 1–3. The pop-up exhibition is supported by the Erwin Olaf Foundation in connection to BUTT and No Limits! Art Castle's current show ‘Cruising Amsterdam: Public Sex in the City’.
The Brief:
From cheeky smartphone sext videos to the output of OnlyFans auteurs to highly produced porn and art films, we’re all “content creators” today. While some adventurous folks travel the world for sex (and get paid to do it), the porn practices of others are more subtle, artsy, private, or conceptual. Legendary cult filmmaker Bruce LaBruce is curating a special pop-up exhibition bringing together X-rated short films that straddle the arbitrary line between art and porn, seeking the creative heart of both.
The call for films is open to queer filmmakers and/or content creators whose videos play with the shifting definitions and practices of what it means to “sell” sex online for likes, orgasms, and cash money. Drake’s Cruising:
Located steps from Amsterdam Centraal near the Red Light District, Drake’s Cruising is an “award-winning playground” normally open to gay, bi, and curious men looking for sexual connections. The cruising venue features 22 video-equipped cabins, a small dark room, and glory holes. Selected films will be programmed in the screens within the individual cabins, transforming the jerk-suck-and-fuck venue into an art space for one weekend only.

Submission details:
We are looking for short films, so please keep submissions under 30 minutes. Submit mp4 files via a stable open link (such as Google Drives, no expiring links like Wetransfer), or alternatively share via video hosting sites (like Vimeo) with the proper password/login details provided on the submission form.
