Jakob is 31-years-old and lives in Berlin, Germany. Jakob is, in fact, of German descent, born in Hamburg. Samuel Hodge photographed him on that borrowed mattress in a borrowed flat for the 2012 BUTT calendar. Jakob finds being photographed a turn-on and gets aroused by erotic photos of other men.

The morning before his show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, I met up with 22-year-old MC Nicky Da B — née Nickisse Tony from Louisiana,USA — at his rented apartment in Brooklyn to get the low down on the future of ‘sissy bounce’. Bounce music surfaced in New Orleans over twenty years ago, then lingered ‘round the bayou until queer artists like Katey Red, Big Freedia and Sissy Nobby battered it in gayness and deep-fried it for a larger audience. It’s raucous party music crafted for live performance and booty-trembling. For a guy with such a commanding vocal presence, Nicky is rather petit, standing at just five foot, six inches — think Prince or Tom Cruise without the platform shoes.

That would be the eloquent and fit Chris from BUTT 25 reading at last month's inaugural 'Naked Boys Reading' event, a nude literary salon here in London. We hear that radical nudist Ernesto also made an appearance. Tomorrow, organizer Justin Hunt presents a special pre-holiday edition — J.R.R. Tolkien anyone? — of his salon with the talented Ashley Ryder.

No they didn't! We at BUTT headquarters were shocked to hear that yesterday San Francisco City Supervisor Scott Wiener and friends voted 6-5 in favor of an ordinance that prohibits exposed genitalia in public places.

This month's BUTT Fashion post comes courtesy of vintage fashion junky and part-time rocker Cesar Padilla. On Friday, his collection of rare and DIY concert tees gets its own show at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. Cesar was working the Sunset Strip from a very young age: going to the shows of his favorite punk bands, and scouring second-hand shops for whatever memorabilia he could find.

Fingers crossed for Jim Richards (who you may remember from BUTT 19). He's been nominated for this year's Jarman Award, a prize for an up-and-coming artist-filmmaker whose work embraces the spirit of Derek Jarman's risky filmmaking. If he wins, he gets a £10,000 cash prize and a broadcast commission. We couldn't think of anyone more worthy of such an accolade.

At the Dunas da Praia de Joaquina in Brazil, Geelherme wears his protective Saint Mary amulet. He likes 'mystic' things. Artistic type Geelherme and his BF Alex are from Jaraguá do Sul. So that's where all the supermodels come from... They're looking for artists who want to collaborate, by the way.

Comedian David Mills has come a long way from his humble beginnings at coffee houses and open mic nights in San Francisco. Since he won Hackney Empire's coveted New Comedy Act award last year, David's established himself on the stand-up circuit as one seriously funny guy. Catch him this week in London when he opens for fag hag Margaret Cho.

Recycling leftovers is sort of a hobby for photographer Walter Pfeiffer. He says as much in the introduction to his new art book, 'Scrapbooks 1969-1985'. For the occasion of the book's launch, we dipped into the archive and found some amazing leftovers from his 'Super Beauties' series from BUTT 14.

Artist, illustrator, pornstar avant le lettre, soldier, healer, psychic and one-time convict — he was imprisoned for being gay in 1959 — Ronald Wright will make a rare public appearance this Sunday, 21 October. He'll be interviewed, take questions, and hang around to sign copies of his recent autobiography, 'Sir Gay'. Fabulous!

I've never really been into comics. It wasn't until Robert Crumb offered BUTT a rejected drawing from 'The New Yorker' — an offer which was withdrawn when we mentioned we never pay for submissions — that it occurred to me that BUTT's pink pages might be the perfect place to feature comics. Then last summer, 'No Straight Lines: Four Decades of Queer Comics' edited by Justin Hall, appeared in my inbox.

BUTT fans who find themselves at the Frieze Art Fair in London this weekend might want to consider attending 'Sturtevant in Conversation with John Waters' as part of Frieze Talks, a daily program of lectures and discussions presented by the good people at the Frieze Foundation. The director's brilliance never ceases to amaze, and we feel confident it'll be in full bloom this weekend when the two sit down to chat on the topic on stupidity.

Surely the practice of polygamy's long gone and face it: Utah's not in any way a swing state — or battleground state as they're so dramatically referred to as the U.S. election hots up. The good Mormon folk will surely come out in droves for Mitt, which makes it the perfect time and place for the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art to stage their 'Battleground States' exhibition.

The above video is just one of a series of videos by artist duo Diego Agullo, 32, and Dmitry Paranyushkin, 30, who thought the Palace of Justice in Brussels, Belgium 'needed some love and attention'. Don't we all? Their art is a kind of contemporary dance meets performance art meets video art which looks at the practice and creative possibilities of humping.

That's handsome actor Alex Vardas, as prostitute Nikos, feasting on figs as if he hadn't eaten in days. The clip is from Greek filmmaker Telémachos Alexiou's avant-garde feature, 'I Afroditi Stin Avli' or 'Venus in the Garden'. It shows this week at Queer Lisboa, the Lisbon Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

Christopher Schulz, who can been seen buck naked this month in the 2012 BUTT Calendar, is the dedicated maker of sixteen-issues-strong 'Pinups' magazine. Each issue has featured a different (albeit mostly bearded and bellied-type) dude shot in a unique location. You can also take the whole thing apart and piece together a life-size poster of each hunk. The first issue was printed over four years ago in NYC, but these days Christopher works from a weird corner of L.A. — let's call it SoWeHo — a kind of no man's land just south of West Hollywood. He's getting a bit homesick.
