R.I.P. Merce Cunningham

Sad to hear that Merce Cunningham, one of the greatest and most influential choreographers in the world, passed away last night in his sleep. He was 90 years old. Cunningham was one of the people we most wanted to interview for BUTT. Unfortunately we couldn’t make it happen quickly enough. If you’re in New York, the Cunningham Dance Foundation and Merce Cunningham Dance Company will receive visitors in the Merce Cunningham Studio from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
