Nice Rack!

Colombian artist Juan Betancurth has a few zany kinks…not least his fixation for tableware. He tells us ‘I have a particular attraction to household objects, and dishes can certainly become a part of good play. I once had an affair with a tower fan, until it broke during the action. It was a very hot summer – what a loss.’ 

Check out this human dish rack, somewhere between functional and fetish object, modeled here by a Brazilian friend who came over to his studio to try it on. Juan sent in this video as part of our one-weekend-only exhibition curated by Bruce La Bruce, and we wanted to share it again to see if there’s any fellow dish-heads out there. Anyone?
